Bikes, Blues, and Bar B Q

Club Members Greg & Linda Bright, Butch & Pat Jones were at the Ozark Vintage Motorcycle Association Motorcycle Show during Bike, Blues, and Bar B Q event.

Greg said the show was a first class event. The Diamond Chapter booth was set up at the entrance, so we got lots of attention. We will try to get more member and motorcycles at this event next year.

The OVMA is a great group of guys. I have been trying to get them to our show in September for years. Maybe next year.

Greg and Linda won 1st place in the Tiddler Class
Butch Jones won 2nd place in the Survivor Rider American Class.

NTNOA Lake O The Pines Rally

The NTNOA 30th Annual Lake O The Pines was the best ever. Perfect weather after the storm passed though on Thursday Night. In the 80's during the day and 60's at night.

All day Friday was meet and greet and see old friends and meet new ones, with some short rides.

Concourse ride was at 1:30. A 26 mile back roads fun ride with a metal if you did not break down. Awards ceremonies was at 5:00 with lots of door prizes. I won a 1st place with my Triumph Hurricane and my BMW R90S.

A rider from New England on his way to Peru, riding a 1972 Triumph Bonnieville, stopped at the Rally. We passed the hat and collected money for his trip and wished him well. I hope his sends us a report. After the awards it was party time. Five bands plated short sets until midnight.

This is a really fun rally. I never miss this rally. Jefferson Texas is only 160 miles away.

Thanks guys, you made a good showing for the Diamond Chapter.

The attendance was less than excepted, but a good time was had by all. They need to advertise sooner and more if they do the Honor Ride again next year.

Barber's Vintage Festival

65,365 motorcycle enthusiast set attendance record for the 10th annual Barber's Vintage Festival.

The event saw the largest gathering of Vincent motorcycles ever in the US.Attractions were Wall of Death, M/C Riding in the globe, Swap Meet, Seminars, Vintage m/c road racing, Trails, Enduro runs, Bike shows, Century Race, Cannon Ball riders, Demo Rides, and much more.. ( No Moto Cross this year )

I took my Harley Sprint to ride and my Triumph Hurricane to show. Perry Hollier took his Yamaha RD 350. A little Motorcycle is all you need to get around. The Triumph Hurricane won first place in the Confederate Chapter show. It was a very competitive class and i was surprised to get first.

After the show i rode the Hurricane to the Triumph display tent and put it on display. Some of the younger Triumph guys had never seen a Hurricane before and it drew quite a crowd.

Barber's is just to much fun for three days. You just can't do it all. Russell and Elizabeth Plunkett were there and i meet a lot of old friends.

Barber's Vintage Festival is a must do, so put it on your list. For pictures and more info go to barbermotorsports.com.

October has been a fun filled month with Bikes Blues & Bar B Q, Ozark vintage show, Honor Ride show, NTNOA Lake O the Pines, Barber's Vintage Festival, and Cycles-N-Rodz car and bike show.

So far the weather has been fantastic, let's hope it stays that way though the winter.

A few friends and i rode up to Jasper on Oct 16th to check out the fall colors, guess we went a little early, no fall colors as yet. It was a great ride and a beautiful day. Get your riding in while you can before winter hits.

It's time to catch up on those never ending repairs. Safe Riding.

See you and your bikes at Cycles-N-Rodz this Saturday.

See you at Perkin's next Sunday.
