Diamond Chapter of the

SPECIAL EDITION AUGUST 8 .2010

Hi Everyone! This is a Special Edition of our News Letter as a lot has happened since our last meeting and we felt that most of you will be excited as we were to find out what is going on.

A TV production company named Thunder TV contacted Mike Thomson to ask him if our Club would do a short Club Ride so they could film the old bikes on the road.

They will have a camera truck on the ride as well. Please let Mike know if you are interested. They also want to film The Arlington Lawn Show and do interviews if any of you are articulate and photogenic at the same time.! Their big interest is in the Arlington Lawn Show and plan on doing a 13 part series on Arkansas Motorcycling (not the one percenter) Our club and Bike Show on the Lawn has gotten their interest and we will have the first show airing in January of 2011

They realize that Hot Springs is well on the way to become a Biker Destination and is extremely friendly towards Bikers. They want it all on film.

Their BIG interest is in the Arlington Lawn Show so PLEASE bring all the bikes you can to the show. There is no telling where all this can lead!

Mike is sending out application forms to everyone again but if you would like to copy the info off the form and send it in e mail form send it to safari100usa@yahoo.com.

We are going to need a LARGE turnout of old bikes for the Show. Any of you with multiple bikes and no way to get them there please call Mike at 501-525-9833 and we will get them there and back.

Mike is meeting this Sunday with John Claussen. Who is the Course Master for The Cannonball Run and they will try to firm everything up.

The Club is going to have an information set up in each of the two host hotels on Saturday Sept.17 from 8am until Noon. Any that can help man these info tables please call Mike. Interesting Sidelight!

The day that Harley-Davidson announced they were pulling their production out of Milwaukee the head of The Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce happened to be in Milwaukee and is trying to get them to come to Hot Springs to look at us for a production site. The Old Weyerhauser Plant at Mtn. Pine has a water plant, a sewage plant and fiber optics already there as well as a rail spur!

I have been told that the Community College will train their new employees, free! They employ 1600 people on the assembly line.

That is a pretty good inducement so lets keep our fingers crossed.

If all this does not get you excited you must be on a slab somewhere! We will keep you posted as things develop and sort out, but, again. PLEASE bring everything you can to the LAWN show on Sept 11
