BIRTHDAYS FOR JUNE
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO CLUB MEMBER JED SIMPSON!

Very nice 1957 Chevy at Mt Ida Show!

There were so many cars they completely filled all of the town square! And most of the side streets.

Wee made lots of new friends at Mt. Ida!

Everyone was having a good time!

Around 12 people rode to the museum at

Smackover. The museum essentially tells the story of the Smackover Oil Boom. Smackover went from 93 people to 30,000 in 30 days! Outstanding museum. They have a replica of Main Street in the 1920s in the museum

Our Vice President Sam Gregory watching a movie in the museum about Smackover

Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a window!

I have never seen a motorcycle parked in front of a psychiatrists office!

Young riders pick a destination and go Old riders pick a direction and go!

MENA CAR SHOW

The “Big One” is the Mena Car and Bike Show. This years turnout was enormous and did we luck out. Mr. J.V. Brotherton who makes Brodix Racing Heads opened his own personal museum and Took our Club members on our own personal tour. This Museum is not open to the public And did we enjoy it.!

More below

Pre Big Dog!

This bike was built with a small block Chevy engine long before the Big Dog came out Mr. Brotherton expressed a desire to go to Barbers this Year and we invited him to come with us.

Speaking of Barbers they are now selling tickets on line so now is the time to shell out $35.00 of the best spent money you will ever spend and enjoy three days of racing-shows-air shows-wall of death-side car racing as well . Factory rides to test their new bikes are on hand as well. If you don't have a good time you must be dead and don't know it. We have reservations at an older but clean Baymont on the east side of Birmingham which is only twenty min. from the track and is on restaurant row. Let Mike know if you want to go with us as we normally caravan and tow small bikes if you want to ride but Barbers uses the People Movers from nearby Talladega and you really do not need a bike to get around Oh! I forgot to mention a great upscale swap meet as well! There is a brand new Bass Pro Shop next door that is really something to see as well!

Petit Jean Ride
Some Club members rode up on the Mountain and had lunch at The Mather Lodge and went to the Car Show and Swap meet. The heat and humidity really limited some of us about what we could do. Going up in the morning was great but coming back was hot! We met two couples that were touring Arkansas from Columbia Missouri and they decided to tag a long with us so we rode up 7 north and stopped at Nimrod Dam which is being drained dramatically to fight an algae problem. I am enclosing a picture of the dam with all the gates open. Pretty neat!

Mike Thompson’s Hurricane.
If you take Motorcycle Classics Magazine turn to page 17 and there is an ad for Barbers Motorsports Park which has a picture of Club Presidents Mike Thomson's Triumph Trident!

A Group Ride to Camp Albert Pike

Several Club members rode to Camp Albert Pike only one week before the devastating Flash flood that killed 20 campers. This was once considered one of the prettiest parks in Arkansas.

This is where the flood waters reached 23 ff!

RIDE THE OZARKS AND SEE EUREKA SPRINGS-BOXLEY VALLEY.

SEE THE ARKANSAS ELK HERD!!

RIDE THE MOONSHINE RUN AND HAVE LUNCH AT THE CLIFF HOUSE AND SEE THE ARKANSAS GRAND CANYON!

These are just a few of the things that a few of us are going to do when we leave from Desoto Park at 8AM this Wednesday and will come home either Saturday or Sunday, We will also ride to Bella Vista to the Ozark Vintage Bike show and hand out Flyers on our show in Sept. We leave on Wed the 23rd. Come with us and have a good time. We have a good deal on a nice, clean motel in Eureka for $49,00 a night, two people We may decide to ride The Pig Trail going home or take the new 540 which is really scenic This is only a smidgen (a little) of what lies in store for you if you make this trip. Please call Mike Thomson at 501-525-9833 or cell 214-557-6012 if you are interested in going We are riding 7 North all the way to Harrison as it is one of the best rides in Arkansas. Be there or be Square!

PROJECT BIKE Mike wants to get to work on the project bike so bring it up at the club meeting and see who can work on what and when.
